New Years Eve Inspiration

NYE

WHAT?!  A New Years Eve outfit post with no sequins?! I purposely tried not to include sequin items in this collage because 1.  I felt many of us have probably done sequins to DEATH on New Years Eve and 2. I'm sure 90 percent of the women in the world will be wearing some sort of sequins while ringing in the new year and you want to be a standout! Here is a collage that will serve as inspiration while I'm putting together my New years ever outfit. Velvet and satin are great alternatives to sequins because both fabrics reflect light much like sequins. Right now my idea look for NYE would be a fitted skirt, halter crop top and statement jewelry. I also wouldn't mind wearing a slip dress with a high slit and a fistful of rings. What do you plan on wearing while welcoming 2015?

Adidas by Stella McCartney

This is a peak at Stella McCartney and Adidas 10th collaboration. Adidas definitely had the right idea to link up with Stella for its designer collaboration, she knows how to design clothes that makes a girl want to get into the gym. These garments have amazing colors, prints and textures any fashion girl would die to wear theses pieces outside of the gym as well. With sport-chic being a huge trend, this collection is a must have for women who prefer jerseys and knits over jacquard and lace. If I had a few of these pieces I would for sure be in the gym everyday... maybe not working out, but at least taking gym selfies.

Fall Beauty Trends

We teamed up with Professional Makeup Artist Whitney Harper ( who also happens to be our auntie) to recreate some fall beauty trends. Whitney told us this fall/winter's beauty trends are neutral or bold lips, smokey eyes and as always colors like brown, plum and red will be on trend during the Autumn/winter months. Maya's rocking a brown lip, this is one of our favorite beauty trends right now. Our favorite neutral/brown lipsticks are Taupe by Mac lined with Hover by Mac and Het Loo by Nars. Milan's look includes two big fall trends; smokey eye and a bold red lip. Don't let this professional beat down intimidate you these trends can easily be recreated by you. Our favorite products to use to create a bold red lip are: Dragon Girl, Red Square, and Cruella by Nars (our favorite of the three is red square) and lined with Cherry by MAC. Whitney said to achieve a smokey eye, smudge black gel eyeliner on your lid then add a warm color to your crease and blend with a clean brush. We really enjoyed getting our face beat by our talented auntie, we usually don't wear a lot of makeup but it was really fun to go outside of our usual norm. We hope you enjoy this post, let us know what's some of you favorite products and trends for this Autumn/Winter.

Gray Scale

gray scale

Recently I've been wearing a lot of gray. I love mixing different values of gray to make up a monochrome look. It's such an easy color to style and is perfect this season. Above are a few gray items I think are perfect for creating gray layered monochrome looks. What are you guys wearing this fall?

In Distress

I bought these jeans from goodwill at the beginning of the summer. They were originally dark wash, I decided to jazz them up a bit by bleaching and distressing them.  I was inspired by the distressed denim I had been seeing all over fashion blogs. I loved the outcome, unfortunately I didn't get around to distressing the denim until the end of summer. Although I wasn't able to wear them all summer long as planned, I am so excited to transition these jeans into fall. I think they will pair great with a oversized sweater or a plain cotton tee and a moto jacket.

Fashion Month Part I

I have finally been able to digest and review most of the collections that have shown these past few weeks. I honestly could have done a post on the Porsche Design collection all on its own. The simplicity and neutral color scheme with the use of rich fabrics made the collection so luxe . Zimmermann's collection reminds me of something a chic fairy would wear, the garments had movement and looked effortless. J.Mendel of course is always going to give you major power pieces, but that fur coat...everything!  Tory Burch had amazing textiles and graphics which made her collection standout. I immediately fell in love with the garments Altuzarra and Jason Wu displayed, both had extremely sexy and sophisticated pieces.
